Mesa Public Library presents author and humorist Carrie Classon & Apache singer-songwriter Matthew Andrae in a preview performance of I’ve Been Waiting All My Life to be Middle-Aged at the Fuller Lodge, 2132 Central Ave, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8.
Classon’s observant and whimsical stories are accompanied by Andrae’s heartfelt music for an experience that is comic, poignant, and inspiring. The team has secured management through AMAZ Entertainment and will be promoting the show this fall to theater presenters and producers in Sedona, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and New York.
Classon’s column, The Postscript, is carried in more than 140 newspapers and heard on Public Radio. Her memoir, Blue Yarn, was just released to critical acclaim. Andrae’s latest album Born was recorded in Santa Fe, Paris, and Australia and boasts an all-star line-up of musicians and engineers with fourteen Grammy awards between them.
Copies of Classon’s memoir, Blue Yarn, are available at CB Fox and the author will remain on hand after the performance for a book signing. The event is sponsored by the Mesa Public Library as part of their “Authors Speak” program. Admission is free.
