The entire schedule is posted on the website, http://www.LosAlamosScienceFest.comwww.LosAlamosScienceFest.com and on the ScienceFest Facebook page. Los Alamos is delighted to highlight great opportunities, for anyone who hasn’t tried Zumba, Pound, Yoga and more. The events give folks a chance to get out there and give it a try free of charge. The opportunity takes classes outside, to give it a new dimension, increased enjoyment and satisfaction along with physical benefits and fun.

Friday afternoon, Health Day continues with educational opportunitiesb y hosting a ScienceFest program entitled “Health Principles Conversations.” This will take place at project Y cowork. The informal chats with local health and wellness experts have themes which will resonate with the listener long after this week. “Sitting is the new smoking,” and “Dance instead of balance – where is the root of modern disease?” are just two of the conversations listed on the calendar. The community is welcome to join them for a relaxed discussion about little steps we can all take to live our best life.

Friday night, put your dance to use as the ScienceFest fun continues with the music of Chevel Shepherd from NBC’s The Voice for our Friday night summer concert series. The Team Kelly crooner will launch ScienceFest fun into the stratosphere for co-coordinator Kate Cleveland who is ready for the week of events.

“From the moment the Los Alamos MainStreet program was asked to sponsor the concert that night, we knew it was meant to be,” said Cleveland. “I can’t think of a better way to generate excitement about our town’s signature festival than to host a New Mexico native, up-and-coming star!”

Volunteers are still needed for Saturday morning delivery of tables, chairs and other various items to exhibitors, guide traffic flow, answer questions, point people to the information booth and just generally be around. Those willing to assist can contact Kate directly at kate@losalamos.org to sign up. Volunteers will get a free ScienceFest t-shirt, as a thank you.
