CONCERT SERIES NEWS

Fronted by Katy Palmier and backed by a tight trio of musicians, Katy P and The Business has been one of Taos’ real crowd-pleasers since it was formed years ago. As the lead singer, Katy Palmier is known for her big-hearted (one might even say Olympian) vocal gymnastics. Singing soul, funk and rock and roll, Palmier knows how to pull every ounce of oomph from a song and deliver it up steaming to her audience. With her natural talent and contagious enthusiasm, she could get away with less, but she doesn’t. Katy P and the Business is the most high- energy dance band in New Mexico. Voted (by popular vote) best band in Taos 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. The concert is sponsored by N3B Los Alamos.

This Friday’s opening act features Bones of Romeo, a hard rocking band based out of Taos New Mexico. The band covers rock hits from the classic rock era to the present: The Stones, Zepplin, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Billy Idol, U2, The Red Hot Chili Peppers to Kings of Leon and many more. The band also writes original tunes, which they include in their sets. Bones has decades of experience from the rock scenes in L.A., Seattle, Chicago and Albuquerque. A straight up no nonsense band who brings passion and joy and their love of Rock and Roll to all their performances. The concert’s Youth Performance will feature a Mexican Ballet Folklorico dance performance by Moving Arts Espanola.

“Get ready to dance,” says Sancre Productions spokeswoman Monica Griego. “We are thrilled to have these talented New Mexico Rock and Roll Bands make their debuts at Ashley Pond this Friday Night.” As its sixth concert in the Series, the Sancre Productions team is working in tandem with various Los Alamos County departments to ensure public safety, ADA accommodations, free parking and shuttle services and a diverse offering of Food Truck Vendors.

As usual, the Youth Performance starts at 6 p.m., Bones of Romeo will perform at 6:30 p.m. and Katy P and The Business will perform at 8 p.m. The New Mexico Craft Distillery Garden will offer craft cocktails and beer from Rolling Still Distillery Bros., Bathtub Row Brewing Co-Op, and Santa Fe Brewing Company.
