Los Alamos High School 2013 alumnus U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt. Kyle Partin has graduated from the Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) Program at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas.
SUPT is a rigorous program that takes someone from never having touched the controls of an airplane to being a fully “rated” Air Force pilot in 52 weeks. Partin graduated with some 50 other pilots, many of whom are assigned to airframes across the world. Along with five others, Partin was selected to remain at Laughlin as a first assignment instructor pilot in the T-6A Texan 2.
Partin graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering before entering the service.
On hand at Laughlin for a blessing of the wings, graduation and pinning the wings on at the flight line were Partin’s parents, Doug and Marcie Partin, his sister, Lauren Partin and fiancée Lt. Jill Jackson.
