Cimarron River: Stream flow near Cimarron on Monday morning was 49.2 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using San Juan worms, golden stone nymphs, spinners and worms for trout. Fishing at the Gravel Pit Lakes was good using PowerBait, worms and Pistol Petes for trout.
Clayton Lake: Fishing was good using worms, PowerBait, spoons, tubes and crank baits for a mixed bag of trout, largemouth bass and catfish. We had no reports on other species.
Conchas Lake: Fishing was good using top water lures, swim baits, jerk baits, senkos, jigs, tubes and creature baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using minnows, grubs and crank baits for crappie and white bass. Fishing was fair using jig and minnow and jig and worm rigs and crank baits for walleye. Fishing was fair to good using cut bait, homemade dough bait and liver for catfish.
Costilla Creek: Stream flow near Costilla on Monday was 119 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Cowles Ponds: Fishing was good using PowerBait, Fire Balls and worms for trout.
Coyote Creek: Fishing was good using worms and Fire Balls for trout.
Eagle Nest Lake: Fishing was very good using leeches and chironomids on a sinking tip line, spinners, Kastmasters, Platte River specials and PowerBait for rainbow trout. The fly fishing anglers also did well fishing for perch. Fishing was good using spoons, streamers and spinners for northern pike. We had no reports on kokanee.
Eagle Rock Lake: Fishing was good using wooly buggers, Pistol Petes, worms, PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout.
Fawn Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Gallinas River: Fishing was good using worms and small bead head nymphs for trout.
Hopewell Lake: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, worms, wooly buggers and Pistol Petes for rainbow and brook trout.
Lake Alice: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Maloya: Fishing was good using assorted PowerBait for trout. A few were also caught by anglers using gold spoons. Friends of Sugarite have purchased and stocked several hundred pounds of big trout this week.
Los Pinos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Maxwell Lake 13: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Monastery Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Morphy Lake: Closed for a renovation project on the dam and no firm opening date has been set.
Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos on Monday morning was 656 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using worms, salmon eggs, wooly buggers, bead head prince nymphs and bead head hares ears for a mixed bag of brown and rainbow trout.
Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday morning was 257 cfs. The increased runoff slowed fishing a bit this past week. A few trout were caught by anglers using spinners and worms.
Rio Grande: Stream flow at the Taos Junction Bridge was 3,460 cfs. Fishing was slow for all species.
Rio Hondo: Stream flow on Monday morning was 144 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Mora: Stream flow on Monday morning was 172 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Pueblo: Stream flow on Monday morning near Penasco was 205 cfs. Fishing was good using worms for trout.
Santa Cruz Reservoir: Fishing was good using Kastmasters, spinners, PowerBait and Fire Balls for trout. Anglers did well from the bank and from boats.
Shuree Ponds: Closed for the season.
Springer Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Storrie Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait for trout. Fishing was fair to good using hotdogs, worms and liver for catfish.
Stubblefield Lake: Fishing was fair using swim baits and curly tail grubs for a mixed bag of walleye and largemouth bass.
Ute Lake: Fishing was good using chatter baits, tubes, crank baits, jigs, senkos and grubs in shallow water for largemouth bass and an occasional smallmouth bass. Fishing was good trolling crank baits for white bass. Fishing was fair to good using crank baits, jig and minnow rigs and bottom bouncer nightcrawler rigs for walleye. The walleye were scattered. Fishing for catfish slowed considerably from the previous week but a few were caught by anglers using stink bait. |
