New Mexico Department of Game and Fish Bighorn Sheep Biologist Caitlin Ruhl took this photo last week while glassing up some sheep in the Jemez Mountains. In this photo are 17 ewes and 7 lambs. Can you spot them all? Bighorn commonly prefer open and rugged terrain because it helps them mitigate predation risk, and ewes with young lambs are especially careful about where they choose to be.
