COUNTY NEWS

Los Alamos County Environmental Services and the Environmental Sustainability Board would like to thank all the volunteers that participated in the 16th annual Clean Up Los Alamos Day on Saturday, May 18.

Volunteers helped pick up trash from all over the county including school grounds, parks and trails. We had over 100 participants register to volunteer in 15 groups. With their help we were able to collect 600 pounds of trash around the community. A volunteer appreciation lunch was held at Ashley Pond following the cleanup.

At the Eco Station approximately 150 residents utilized the free tipping opportunity with an additional 45 people that did the same at the White Rock Overlook Convenience Center.

Environmental Services staff would like to thank Los Alamos National Bank, Metzger’s Do it Best, Coca-Cola, and Los Alamos County who sponsored Clean Up Los Alamos Day.

It is our responsibility to keep Los Alamos clean and beautiful. We couldn’t have done it without the support from our community and sponsors.
