The Zero Waste Champion of the Year award is sponsored by the Los Alamos County Environmental Services Division and the Environmental Sustainability Board. It is a great avenue to promote recycling and zero waste in the community and get more businesses participating in the recycling program.
To become eligible, a business is nominated by a member of the community for contributing to sustainability, recycling and waste reduction. The nominees are required to submit a brief overview about how their business recycled, reduced waste, conserved energy or water and contributed to overall sustainability.
This year there are five categories:
- School
- Non-Profit Business
- Business
- Small Business
- Restaurant
Now, we need the community to vote on who they believe should receive the Zero
Waste Champion of the Year Award in each category. To vote, visit:
