Rotary Club of Los Alamos Awards $500 Each To Four Area Non-Profits

Through its Community Funding Requests program, the Rotary Club of Los
Alamos recently awarded $500 each to four area non-profits selected through
an application process with a committee of judges and member voting.

Elementary School nurse, who will use the money to
assemble emergency first-aid kits for public school classrooms; Melanie
McKinley, who represented the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation, which
will use the funding for mini-grants for five teachers; and Laura Loy,
representing Girl Scout Troop 10635, whose members will use the funding for
filming a video with PAC-8 for SiteWatch, highlighting the importance of
