County Engineer Addresses Rotarians On Hwy 502 Construction Project

Eric Martinez, County Engineer, spoke recently at the Rotary Club of Los Alamos, explaining the phases of road construction involving Highway 502 and the new roundabout at the entrance to town.  The project will require 350 working days, equivalent to two construction seasons.  Accommodations are being made as much as possible to maintain public access to businesses during all phases of construction despite detours and re-routing of traffic. Martinez is a graduate in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State Universityand is a licensed NM Professional Engineer and Certified Floodplain Manager.He has worked for Los Alamos County since 2015.  He was accompanied at the Rotary meeting by Senior Engineer Desiree Lujan.
