The inaugural meeting of 100 Men Who Care – Los Alamos will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Building 2 of the UNM-Los Alamos campus.
The newly-established group is dedicated to providing immediate and meaningful financial support to local organizations and is modeled after a similar Los Alamos group for women. Meetings are to be held quarterly beginning with a 30-minute social with simple food and drink. Three organizations are selected in advance to make a five-minute presentation and then the group votes on the one with the most compelling need.
Each man writes a check for $100 directly to the selected organization. Teams can be formed to share in the $100 quarterly contribution with a rotating team member attending the event and voting on the team’s behalf.
Founders of the new group are Ryan Tatro, David Iraelevitz, Bob Harmon, Andrew Harnden, Tony Mitchell, Todd Nelson and Evan Spence.
