TRAFFIC ALERT UPDATE 11:43 am: LAPD is asking motorists to avoid driving roadways adjacent to large forested areas because of high winds and the danger of falling trees. 50-100 trees are down on State Road 4 between the back gate and the Valles Caldera. LAPD and NMDOT are cutting a path through for stranded motorists. Large snow drifts are also present on the roadway. Traffic crews are also receiving multiple reports of downed trees falling into roadways around Los Alamos County, especially those areas near heavily forested lands with large trees, such as West Jemez Road, NM502, NM501 and Camp May Rd. State Road 4 continues to be CLOSED in both directions at West Jemez (NM 501 – The Back Gate), as well as Camp May Road.
