The Los Alamos Youth Activity Centers, a program of Los Alamos Family
Council, will host the first ever community-wide Perfect Pi Day Celebration from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at the Ashley Park Pond Pavilion.
The Pi and Pie event will include a silent auction to bid on pies from local
restaurants and bakeries, and the sale of raffle tickets for the chance to pie local
celebrities.
Celebrities already signed up include popular Los Alamos Middle School teacher Rita Sanchez, Los Alamos Public Schools Supt. Kurt Steinhaus, Chamisa Elementary School Principal Suzanne Lynne, Teen Center Director George Marsden, Youth Activity Centers Director Jordan Redmond,Chamisa Counselor Michelangelo Lobato and Sci Guy Chad Lauritzen.
the afternoon and receive one free raffle ticket for the celebrity pie activity.
To volunteer your face or your business, call the coordinator at 672-1565. Raffle tickets for the event are now on sale Tickets cost $1 each, $5 for six, or $10 for 13 and are available at the Youth Activity Center from Jordan Redmond ot Bernadette Lauritzen until 4:45 p.m. the day of the event.
Youth Activity Centers memberships are open to all third through eighth grade
students, by filling out an application at http://www.lafamilycouncil.org.
