Los Alamos Public Schools invites parents with elementary aged children to attend a free two-part info session on creating healthy attitudes around technology in the home . The sessions will be hosted at Chamisa Elementary School’s library. Session 1 is Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Session 2 is Tuesday, March 5 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Families must attend Session 1 to attend Session 2.

In part one, District Site Tech Administrator Salvador Zapien will lead a discussion about the effects technology has on development and behavior in students aged 4 through 12. In part two, parents will learn how to enable restrictions on devices, content, and their network to enforce rules set by the family.

“The goal of the info sessions is to build capacity in parents that need help managing devices at home and to create a partnership with parents to teach kids mindful practices around technology,” said Zapien.
