Officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities acknowledge that a problem occurred with the presentation of multiple utility bills that ran in January. These bills are displaying incorrect information as to the previous balance and the amount due. The department is suspending bill processing activities for the rest of this week to work with its vendor to correct the issue.
“We apologize for this inconvenience,” stated Deputy Utilities Manager Bob Westervelt. “Staff is committed to work with the vendor to correct this matter as expeditiously as possible.” In the meantime, Westervelt indicates that if customers are concerned about the amount that is owed on a bill, they are encouraged to call the Customer Care Center at 505 662 8333 Mon. – Fri. from 8 – 5 p.m.
