A plea hearing has been set in First Judicial District Court Jan. 30 for Samuel Herrera, 30, of Santa Fe on eight charges of forgery of $2,500 or less, one charge of larceny over $500 and two charges of unlawful use of a credit card. All 11 charges are fourth degree felonies.

An arrest warrant was issued for Herrera in November 2017 and he was arrested by New Mexico State Police. He had his first appearance Mar. 24, 2018 before Magistrate Judge Joseph Madrid who placed him on 20 percent of a $25,000 cash bond. Herrera appeared before Judge Casados April 11 and she agreed to release him on an unsecured appearance bond.

In May 2018, Herrera waived his preliminary hearing and the charges were bound over to District Court.
