Eight Northern New Mexican athletes were part of the Los Alamos Young Guns team that competed Nov. 3 and 4 in Belen at the New Mexico High School Clay Target Association Face To Face Shoot Off.
Team members are Monica Smith, Cade Pimentel, Tim Martin and Brian Dors of Los Alamos, Chantry Stermer of Taos, Alyssa Vigil of Ojo Sarco, Hallie Vigil of Cundijo and Sarah Randall of Taos.
Rising star sophomore Chantry Stermer tied for third place in singles but lost the shoot-off. She took first place in handicap and second in doubles. Chantry attends Escalante High School.
Alyssa Vigil took second place in handicap and second place in doubles. She attends Pojoaque Middle School.
The team is part of the Scholastic Clay Target Program and is coached by Mike O’Neill, Kathy Smith and Alan Bond. For more information, call 505.309.1762.
