Family members of Andrea Rivera are relieved this afternoon that she has been located and taken into custody by Los Alamos Police Department and is being held on an arrest order from Adult Probation and Parole.

LAPD Deputy Chief Jason Wardlow Herrera, Sgt. Daniel Roberts and Det. Joseph Robinson traveled to Espanola after being notified that Rivera was at the Blake’s LotaBurger. Wardlow Herrera told the Los Alamos Reporter that LAPD was assisted by Lt. Abraham Baca of the Espanola Police Department.

Rivera’s sister, April Rivera said the family is relieved that Andrea is safe and in a safe place.

“We are trying to find out how she can get help. We are hoping that the court system will help us get her into an appropriate mental health facility where she can finally get the help she needs,” April Rivera said. “We are grateful to Deputy Chief Wardlow Herrera and the other officers who responded so quickly once her location was known.”

Andrea Rivera was released from the LADC Friday and reported to APP officials in Espanola but was not fitted with an electonic monitoring bracelet as ordered by First Judicial District Judge Jason Lidyard last Wednesday.
