Rio Arriba County, NM – On Sept. 21 at around 11:50 p.m. the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on Forest Road 559 near Canjilon, NM.

The initial investigation indicates a 1999 Ford F-250 was traveling east on Forrest Road 559, for reasons unknown, the Ford left the roadway and rolled down an embankment.  The driver, Johnny M. Leyba (47) of Canjilon was ejected, sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and seatbelts do not appear to be properly utilized.  No additional information is available at this time.
