County And LAHP Announce End Of 30 Year Partnership

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos County and the Los Alamos Housing Partnership (LAHP) have announced that they will be ending their partnership after 30 years of success.

“We are grateful for the work LAHP has done over the years managing the Home Renewal Program and Homebuyer Assistance Program,” Dan Osborn, Housing & Special Projects Manager at Los Alamos County said. “Under the most recent contract LAHP has allowed us to give out nearly $2 million to a total of nearly 100 homeowners – something we couldn’t have done without them.”

LAHP, a local non-profit organization, has been managing both programs since their inception, dating back to 2015. With the expiration of LAHP’s management contract for the Homebuyer Assistance Program on June 30, 2024, and the impending retirement of LAHP management staff Steve Brugger and Cindy Hollabaugh, it is an appropriate time to seek a new contract provider.

According to the LAHP Board of Directors, which includes Karl Hjelvik, President, Craig Wehner, Secretary, Carol Clark, Treasurer, Pearl White, Member, Lesley Harelson, Member, and Charles Rennick, Member, LAHP intends to close the organization once it completes an orderly disposition of assets.

The County is appreciative of the work the LAHP Board has done for the community over the years to make the program a success.

Los Alamos County will be issuing a Request for Proposals for administration of both the Home Renewal Program (HRP) and Homebuyer Assistance Program (HAP) programs in May 2024, with the goal of entering a professional services contract with the contract provider by July 2024.
