A heads up for summer on the little bird
The Jemez Mountain Fire Protection Project is in full swing this summer — and the work happening on our mountain right now is the reason next winter is going to look very different around here. New snowmaking infrastructure. More days on the hill. A Pajarito that’s built to last.
To keep crews safe and the project moving, we’re suspending all summer mountain operations, with the exception of our special events:
Lift served mountain biking is fully suspended
Hiking is welcome — just stay clear of active construction and maintenance areas
Lodge is closed and locked (no bathrooms on site — plan ahead)
Dogs on leash, always
Cafe and store are closed for the season, with limited openings on select event weekends — Summerfest, ULLRfest, and others on our events calendar
To our biking community — we hear you, and we’re sorry for the loss of a lift-served summer season. The mountain is doing something important right now, and your patience is genuinely part of making it happen.
