Los Alamos Police Department To Host Prescription Drug Takeback Day April 25

LAPD NEWS RELEASE

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Los Alamos Police Department will be participating in The DEA Drug Take Back Day. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will run until 2:00 p.m., held in The North Parking Lot (off Central Avenue) of the Los Alamos Police Department. Please follow the posted signs and drive through, to the take back boxes. Please dispose of any trash or empty bottles before dropping off. Labels on bottles do not have to be removed, however if you prefer to remove them, please do so beforehand.

For this event, we will have supplies available to assist the community in disposal of liquids and
creams, however, sharps and aerosols will NOT be accepted.

This drug diversion program is a part of a national initiative by the DEA. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the public about the potential for abuse of medications.
This program has been very successful for the Los Alamos Police Department, and we are excited to participate again this Spring. Please remember LAPD has a drop-box located within the department if you cannot stop by on April 25.
