LOS ALAMOS AQUATOMICS NEWS RELEASE

Six swimmers from the Los Alamos Aquatomics represented the team at the New Mexico Swimming State Championship held March 5–8, demonstrating strong performances, dedication, and teamwork throughout the competition.

Senior swimmer Madalyn Baily competed in the 500-, 1000-, and 1650-yard freestyle events and was also recognized as a senior athlete during the championship. The Aquatomics community is proud of everything she has contributed during her time with the team. Beyond her accomplishments in the water, Madalyn has been a wonderful leader, helping younger swimmers feel comfortable in the pool, organizing team activities, and serving as a positive role model for her teammates.

Several Aquatomics swimmers advanced to championship finals and delivered impressive results. Greyson Killgore reached the finals in five events and earned 4th- and 6th-place finishes. Daniela Milazzo-Ramirez advanced to the finals in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 50-yard breaststroke, finishing 4th place in both events. Grace Nowell had an outstanding championship performance, earning 3rd place in the 1650-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.

Peter Maginot and Ashley McLaughlin also competed strongly at the championship. Peter swam in three events, while Ashley competed in five events, both representing Los Alamos Aquatomics with determination and great team spirit.

For the team, success is measured not only by results but also by the joy of competition, the friendships built along the way, and the strong sense of camaraderie among swimmers. The team is grateful to Head Coach Maribeth Englert and the entire coaching staff for their dedication and support of the athletes both in and out of the water.

Next up for the Aquatomics is the Senior Zones Championship in Mesa, Arizona. Madalyn Baily and Peter Maginot will represent the team at the meet, which takes place March 19–22.

Congratulations to all our swimmers for representing Los Alamos with pride at the state championship.
