LOS ALAMOS JJAB NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos JJAB announces that Dianna Reichelt is its new Executive Director. An internal leader who has been instrumental in the organization’s recent successes, Reichelt steps into the role following a period of unprecedented growth and community impact.

Since joining JJAB in 2021, Reichelt has demonstrated a unique trajectory of leadership, advancing through key roles to her appointment as Executive Director. This progression has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of JJAB’s operations, from direct youth advocacy to high-level program management. In her new role, Reichelt will oversee JJAB’s entire continuum of care, including the recently launched Outpatient Therapy Program, Youth Peer Support, and Seven Challenges initiatives. Her appointment ensures that JJAB’s strategic direction remains grounded in the needs of the youth and families in Los Alamos.

Reichelt’s history with the organization is marked by deep collaboration, as she previously served as Resource Specialist Program Manager. Her move into the Executive Director role is welcomed by long-term partners who have worked alongside her in the field.

“Dianna is a vital partner who leads with strength, vision, and a clear focus on supporting our students and families,” said Jill Gonzales, Los Alamos Middle School Principal and JJAB Board Member. “I have great confidence in JJAB’s continued excellence under her leadership.”

The transition comes as JJAB extends its deepest gratitude to outgoing Executive Director Rachel Mohr-Richards. During her tenure, JJAB evolved from a community resource into a leading provider of comprehensive youth support services, nearly doubling in size.

“Rachel’s impact on this organization cannot be overstated,” JJAB Board Chair Phillip Ortega said. “She built a foundation of kindness and advocacy that has changed the lives of countless families in Los Alamos.”

Under Mohr-Richards’ leadership, the organization expanded its clinical services and deepened its community roots. Most importantly, she established a culture of profound kindness, ensuring that every program and partnership was led with compassion.

The Board of Directors views this transition not as a change in direction, but as a continuation of excellence. Reichelt is tasked with sustaining the momentum of current programs while providing the steady, resolute leadership required to anchor JJAB’s expanded footprint in the community.

“It is a fortunate position for a Board to transition from one exceptional leader to another,” Ortega added. “While Rachel’s leadership was defined by a transformative kindness that reshaped our reach, Dianna brings a different, formidable strength to the role. She possesses a resolute leadership style and a steady hand, which is exactly what we need to solidify our growth, and position ourselves to be able to meet the ever-expanding needs of the youth in this community. We are moving from a season of heart-led expansion directly into a season of resilient, enduring strength.”
