Free Palestine Spring Movie Series Begins Mar. 24 At SALA Event Center With ‘The Voice Of Hind Rajab’

For the people of Los Alamos, the sidewalks on Trinity Drive and Central Avenue next to the Pond, have become hallowed ground. Since the dark dawn of October 2023, a small but unyielding group of community members has gathered there every single Saturday, a living testament to the belief that bearing witness is a sacred duty. As the genocide in Gaza unfolded, the need to amplify Palestinian voices, to move beyond the picket line and into a deeper space of education and solidarity, became our urgent call. Last summer we answered that call, transforming our local movie theater into a forum for truth-telling. Through the power of cinema and the eloquence of guest speakers, we began a journey to understand not just the immediate horror, but the long history that led us here.

That work continues. This spring, our anti-imperialist, anti-colonial collective is proud to present another film series. We believe that the struggle for justice is indivisible; our commitment to Palestinian liberation is inseparable from our support for reparations for Black Americans and Indigenous peoples, and our steadfast demand that the U.S. government keep its hands off Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, Lebanon and ALL nations and sovereign countries. We invite you to join us once again at SALA, always on a Tuesday night at 7:00 PM. Admission is free, a continuation of our belief that education and community are not commodities; however, donations will be gratefully accepted and sent to the Sameer Project or the Red Crescent Society, supporting Palestinians on the front lines of resistance and survival. Together, we will continue to learn, to witness, and to refuse to look away.
