FOSCA NEWS RELEASE
The winner of this year’s Dog Jog logo contest is Peter Bakasi, a talented Piñon Elementary School sixth grader who produced a sweet and imaginative drawing showing a happy pup getting ready to take part in the Dog Jog.
His drawing will be the official logo for this year’s Dog Jog event, and he will receive a free t-shirt featuring his artwork. The winners are chosen on the basis of artistic merit, creativity and originality.
This year we received a record number of entries and the selection process was very challenging. There were so many wonderful drawings that we had a very hard time deciding who would be the winner! We really appreciate all the young artists who sent us their imaginative designs and wish we could recognize everybody. We greatly encourage our younger artists to submit entries again next year.
The other young artists recognized this year include our 2nd place winner, Abby Brown, and a three-way third place tie with Emma Mendoza, Miller Gauss, and Emma Fuentes, and 4th place went to Arya Santhi. Honorable mentions go to entries from Heather Gauss, Harper Clark, Calvin Clark, Goldie Church, Levi Gardiner and Elke Klagmann. Again, we want to thank all of our young artists for their talent and enthusiasm.
The 2026 Los Alamos Dog Jog will be held on Saturday, April 25th at 9 a.m. at Rover Park in White Rock. For more information, visit our website www.lafos.org. We hope to see you there. To save $5, pre-register by Sunday April 5 – send your registration form and payment to Dog Jog Registrar at 155 Monte Rey S., White Rock, NM 87547. You can also register online by going to 2026 Los Alamos Dog Jog | FOSCA Los Alamos NM.
Dogs, of course, not only get to participate for free, they get a special doggie prize at the finish line. The 2026 Dog Jog offers both a timed 5K course and a non-competitive 2-mile walk. And we will be holding to our very fun post-race prize ceremony. We will have prizes for fastest doggie finishers and for cutest ears, best wag, and many other fine doggie characteristics.
You can get entry forms at Pet Pangaea and Ridgeview Veterinary Hospital or download one at www.lafos.org. And we will have day-of registration starting at 8:10 a.m. at Rover Park. All participants will get a t-shirt with Peter’s fun and engaging design!
