COUNTY NEWS RELEASE
Los Alamos County DWI Planning Council invites community members over the age of 18 to take part in a brief, anonymous NM Community survey hosted by the New Mexico Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (NMOSAP). The survey focus is on alcohol and prescription drug use. By sharing honest feedback, participants will help provide valuable insights that can guide more effective support services and public health initiatives. The survey will be open until April 4.
Substance use can have significant impacts on individual health, families, workplaces, and the broader community. The data collected is utilized to better understand needs across the state and improve services. In addition, the DWI Planning Council can use the data to better understand current trends, experiences, and concerns in the Los Alamos community to help inform prevention efforts, educational programs, and law enforcement within the County.
Community members are encouraged to take a few minutes to share and contribute to a healthier, better-informed community. The NM Community survey is administered by the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE) on behalf of NMOSAP. Participation in the survey is completely voluntary. It does not record names and responses are confidential. The information from the survey will be released in summary form only. Individuals must be 18 or older and currently live in New Mexico.
The survey questions concern substance use opinions and behaviors. It is unlikely that a survey question will be upsetting, but individuals may choose not to skip questions and may quit the survey at any time. It should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. At the end of the survey, individuals will be able to enter a weekly drawing for three $100 cash prizes and a final drawing for a $500 cash prize.
