LANET To Host Second Virtual Community Broadband Update Meeting Wednesday, Feb. 25

LANET NEWS RELEASE

As County broadband is scheduled to begin rolling out in April, and following our last broadband meeting and the strong interest from the community, we will be hosting a second virtual broadband update Wednesday at 6:00 PM.

This session will provide important updates on what to expect as construction begins and answer detailed questions from residents and businesses.

Guests will include Jerrold Baca of REDINet and Mike Edl of Bonfire.

Topics will include:

County Fiber-to-the-Home Project

  • April rollout timeline
  • Contracting update with Bonfire
  • How construction phases will work
  • Which internet service providers (vendors) will participate
  • What residents need to know as fiber reaches their neighborhood

REDINet Redundant Fiber Path

  • Update on the San Ildefonso connection
  • Confirmation of a second path off the hill
  • Timeline and resiliency improvements

LAnet Infrastructure Updates

  • Current status in areas such as Quemazon and Hawk’s Landing

This will be a virtual meeting open to the community. We encourage residents and business owners to attend, stay informed, and ask questions as these projects move forward.
