Semih Zeytun, a freshman at Los Alamos High School, has been selected as a BigFuture Ambassador by the College Board for the 2026 spring cohort. The BigFuture Ambassador program is a community of high school students that volunteer to support their peers in planning for life after graduation.
As a BigFuture Ambassador, Semih will spread the word about college and career planning and steps students can take now with bigfuture.org, a free College Board platform offering tools and guidance for exploring careers, researching colleges, and planning for financial aid. The more than 5,800 ambassadors nationwide work within their school communities to raise awareness on these topics, inspire classmates to take key steps toward their futures, and share helpful resources through social media, school events, and peer networks.
“We are incredibly proud of Semih for earning this esteemed role,” said LAHS Principal Eric Ziegler. “Becoming a BigFuture Ambassador is a national opportunity to demonstrate leadership and a commitment to helping others succeed as they navigate the transition from high school to the next stage of their lives.”
The BigFuture Ambassador Program is open to students in grades 9–12 and encourages participants to cultivate their leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. At the same time, students play a key role in informing the tools and resources at bigfuture.org that are accessed by millions of students nationwide.
“Leadership in high school is about helping others dream big and take action toward those dreams”, said Amy Reitz, Senior Vice President of BigFuture at College Board. “Programs like BigFuture Ambassadors give students the tools and confidence to plan for college and careers and create a ripple effect of opportunity and inspiration for their peers.”
“I’m honored to represent my school in this program and excited to share BigFuture’s tools with my classmates,” said Semih. “I hope my work makes a difference for others as they plan their next steps after high school.”
Semih plays in the orchestra, and participates on the tennis team and is a part of Key Club. He is also a member of the Hilltalkers.
