DPU Invites Public To Speed Engagement Sessions

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Looking for a quick connection in these busy times? The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities is hosting “Speed Engagement Sessions” in early March – a fast-paced opportunity to share your ideas about water and energy conservation and efficiency. Think of it like speed dating, but instead of finding your soulmate, you’ll help DPU find its next conservation program.

As your public utility provider, DPU needs and values your input. These sessions are part of updating our Water and Energy Conservation Plan (WECP), a required document outlining conservation efforts within DPU services. The Los Alamos Board of Public Utilities (BPU) sets department goals, but public sentiment helps guide how we achieve those goals.

Each open-house-style session invites you visit “conversation stations” representing BPU’s goals, jot down ideas, and vote for your favorites with provided stickers. Whether you can spare 10 minutes or an hour, your input makes a difference — and you might even have a little fun doing it. And with such a diverse community, it’s a great way to keep DPU programming fresh and open to options.

Come and mingle with the DPU conservation coordinator at any of the Speed Engagement Sessions:

Monday, March 9, 3P to 7P, Municipal Building lobby (1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos)

Tuesday, March 10, 2:30P to 4P, White Rock Branch Library (10 Sherwood Blvd., White Rock)

Tuesday, March 10, 4:30P to 7P, White Rock Activity Center (133 Longview Dr., White Rock. Park at the White Rock Senior Center and follow the signs.
