City Of Española Needs Two Things, Unity And Stability

BY DENNIS TIM SALAZAR
Candidate for Mayor
City of Espanola

The City of Española desperately needs two things, unity and stability, under Mayor John Ramon Vigil what we have seen is chaos and division. When I decided to leave Council in 2024 I had hope that he would work with the new council to get things done and make some real improvements to our city, unfortunately I watched our city government become the least productive and controversial it has ever been.

Serving on the City Council for 20 consecutive years there were times that I differed with the four other Mayors and many other councilors, but at the end of the day we got the job done, budgets were balanced, audits were turned in on time, and projects were started and completed.

I know that there are some politicians out there that love to promise the world to get you to vote for them, that has never been my style. What I can promise you is that under my leadership you will have a city that works, one where parks will be cleaned, public safety will be properly funded and respected, where you won’t hear constant drama about me, and staff are allowed to do their jobs.

I want to bring my years of experience and connections to get us back on track. We cannot continue to take shortcuts like the Governing Body did this year in borrowing millions of dollars from the general fund to cover a deficit in the budget. I won’t hide from the challenges we face, or blame others for my failures. I know things can be better, and I know Española deserves much better.

I am prepared to bring normalcy and stability back to City Hall, and I respectfully ask you Española to help by electing me Mayor. Española deserves a city government it can rely on, I will do everything I can to restore trust to our city”.
