Places and Spaces Los Alamos is excited to announce the Week 6 winner of the Local Love Holiday “Snap, Tag, and Share” contest! Congratulations to Laurie Glascock, who has won the Final Week  $100 Local Love Gift Card for showing her Local Love at Village Arts. This gift card may be used for purchases at any of the 120+ local businesses in Los Alamos and White Rock, and is the fourth of many prizes to be distributed throughout the holiday season.

“It has been a valuable promotion for our organization,” according to Places and Spaces Los Alamos representative Kevin Holsapple. “Learning the strengths and limitations of social media, learning that we can handle the work involved with limited volunteer resources, and seeing how different people and businesses respond are all helpful gains. For our primary goal of increasing the awareness of the breadth of local businesses and the importance of supporting them, we generated more than 35,000 social media views from posts and comments during the six-week promotion.”

Places and Spaces already has its next Local Love promotion in the planning and hopes to offer promotions throughout the year. Their idea is that by promoting support for local businesses year-round, they will help make it an everyday habit. Ideas are welcome and can be submitted via email to placesandspacesla@gmail.com.
