Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra Presents Holiday Pops Celebration Dec. 13 At Crossroads Bible Church

LASO NEWS RELEASE

The Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra invites the community to kick off the holiday season with its annual Holiday Pops Concert on Friday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Crossroads Bible Church. This beloved free community event promises festive favorites, family-friendly surprises, and a joyful night of music.

The evening opens with a special treat: a chorus of tubas filling the hall with classic Christmas tunes—guaranteed to bring a smile and set the tone for the night. The full symphony then takes the stage with a magical lineup, including The Polar Express, the hauntingly beautiful Gabriel’s Oboe, and the shimmering Winter Bells.

During intermission, audience members can enter a fun holiday raffle for a chance to conduct the symphony in a lively rendition of Jingle Bells, which will kick off the second half of the concert. One lucky winner will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step onto the podium and lead the orchestra (no experience necessary).

The celebration continues with Christmas Eve/Sarajevo, followed by sparkling selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, featuring dancers from DALA’s annual Sugarplum on the Hill production, who will perform alongside the orchestra.

The program concludes with the crowd-favorite Sleigh Ride, complete with the famous “horse” solo delivered by the orchestra’s talented trumpet section.

After the final note, concertgoers are invited to enjoy a holiday reception and mingle with the musicians. The event is free and open to all, with donations gratefully accepted at the door to support the symphony’s ongoing community performances.

Celebrate the magic, music, and joy of the season with the Los Alamos Symphony Orchestra—an evening sure to delight audiences of all ages.
