LAVNS Executive Director Ruben Vasquez
LAVNS NEWS RELEASE
Los Alamos Visiting Nurse Service, Inc. (LAVNS), “the community’s trusted not-for-profit partner in home health and hospice care since 1973”, has announced the appointment of Ruben A. Vasquez as executive director.
This leadership transition marks the beginning of a revitalized strategic chapter for LAVNS as it heads into 2026, focused on strengthening its workforce, modernizing operations, and reaffirming its commitment to the community it has served for more than five decades.
A New Chapter for a Historic Institution
As the healthcare sector faces unprecedented challenges — including staffing shortages and rising operational costs — LAVNS is taking proactive steps to ensure it remains a pillar of stability and compassion. Under Vasquez’s leadership, the organization will prioritize employee retention, recruitment partnerships, and the integration of smart operational solutions to balance efficiency with exceptional patient care.
“I am honored to join Los Alamos Visiting Nurses Service at such a pivotal moment,” Vasquez said. “For 50+ years, this organization has been the quiet strength in so many homes across our community. My goal is to honor that legacy by building a resilient, supportive environment for our staff so they can continue providing the world-class care our neighbors deserve.”
Celebrating 50+ Years of Service
Coinciding with this leadership announcement, LAVNS is launching a “50+ Years of Service” community awareness campaign. The initiative will highlight LAVNS’s deep non-profit roots in Los Alamos and its specialized Hospice Services, featuring stories of care and compassion on social media, local cinema screens at SALA Event Center, and throughout the community.
