Los Alamos
County Councilors,
I have been a citizen of Los Alamos County since 2005. Since 2011, I have been advocating for County involvement in telecommunications infrastructure. While for many of the subsequent years there have been Councilors of both parties who were adamantly opposed to that idea, the current Council has supported it unanimously.
I turned 73 last week on Tuesday. I now hope to see County broadband in my lifetime.
Usually on my birthday, the best gifts I get are calls and emails from friends and family. This year the gift I got was from the combination of Lumen, Comcast and Verizon. On the eve of your vote tonight, they demonstrated the importance of County involvement in telecommunication infrastructure.
Please approve the Ordinance Authorizing The Issuance Of Bonds for building the community broadband network.
As always, I thank each of you for serving on the County Council.
