NMSP Investigates Milan Homicide

NMSP NEWS RELEASE

On October 21, 2025, the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was called to investigate a homicide at the Allsup’s convenience store located at 507 West Street, #66, Milan, NM.

Preliminary investigation indicates that shortly after 10:00 p.m., a blue Nissan SUV occupied by Myron Sandoval (18) and several others pulled into a stall at the store’s fuel pumps. On the opposite side of the pump was a white Chevrolet sedan occupied by Adrian Murrietta (26), and Dominic Jaramillo (23).

Surveillance footage and witness statements revealed that as Sandoval and a companion exited the Nissan SUV and walked toward the store, an exchange of hostile looks occurred between Sandoval and Murrietta, followed by confrontational gestures by Murrietta. Moments later, Murrietta approached Sandoval and his companion, as Sandoval walked back towards the fuel pumps, a confrontation ensued between Sandoval and Murrietta. During the incident, an exchange of gunfire occurred between Sandoval and Jaramillo, who was standing at the passenger side of the white sedan. After the exchange, Jaramillo and Murrietta fled the scene. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived a short time later, and rendered aid to Sandoval, who sustained a gunshot wound. Sandoval succumbed to his injuries while being transported to a local area hospital.

Adrian Murrietta was taken into custody by the NMSP Tactical Team on October 22nd, 2025, as they were serving a search warrant on a residence. He is charged with the following:

  • Second Degree Murder (Accessory), a second-degree felony
  • Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony

Dominic Jaramillo was taken into custody by NMSP on October 23nd, 2025, after turning himself in to agents and is charged with the following:

  • Second Degree Murder, a second-degree felony
  • Shooting at or from a Motor Vehicle, a second-degree felony
  • Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony

 This case remains under investigations by the New Mexico State Police.
