The Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO) announces the appointment of Ramon Garcia as its new Executive Director, starting October 20, 2025. Mr. Garcia brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and a deep commitment to the northern New Mexico community.

Mr. Garcia previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the Pueblo of Pojoaque Boys and Girls Club, where he oversaw the strategic direction, operational management, and financial health of the organization to advance its mission of empowering local youth. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from New Mexico Highlands University, further complementing his strong record of organizational leadership and community service.

In connection with this transition, the Board of Directors acknowledges with sincere appreciation the service of Rachael Montoya, who has served as Interim Executive Director during this period of leadership change.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rachael Montoya for her outstanding service as Interim Executive Director,” said Donna Haynes, the Board President. “We deeply appreciate her willingness to step up and serve during this important transition period.”

Mr. Garcia assumes the role of Executive Director with a clear focus on advancing LARSO’s mission and supporting older adults across the Los Alamos community.

“I am honored to step into the role of Executive Director at LARSO, and look forward to continuing the organization’s legacy of providing vital support and community for our cherished seniors,” said Garcia. “It’s a privilege to dedicate my efforts to enhancing the lives of Los Alamos County’s older adults, and I am eager to work with the team and community in extending LARSO’s impact.”

Garcia brings many years of nonprofit leadership experience within northern New Mexico and a long history of building community-focused programs. His appointment marks a new chapter for LARSO as it continues its mission to serve and support older adults in the Los Alamos area.

“We look forward to introducing Ramon to all of you soon,” Haynes added, “and are confident that his background and passion for community service will help guide our centers into a bright and sustainable future.”
