PEEC NEWS
The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) invites gardeners, families, and nature enthusiasts to join a free, hands-on workshop celebrating the life of seeds. Fall Seed Harvest will take place on Saturday, October 11 from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the Los Alamos Nature Center.
During this fun, educational program, participants of all ages will:
● Discover the important role seeds play in our ecosystems and food systems
● Learn how to harvest, dry, and store a variety of seeds
● Take part in interactive activities that make seed saving easy and engaging
This event is part of the Los Alamos Community Seed Library Project, a grassroots effort by local individuals and organizations to create a seed library in Los Alamos. A seed library allows community members to “borrow” seeds for planting at home, with the opportunity to collect seeds from their gardens and return them for others to enjoy — fostering a cycle of sharing and sustainability.
The Los Alamos Library System and Pajarito Environmental Education Center host the Los Alamos Community Seed Library.
