LACF NEWS RELEASE
Coordinated by the Los Alamos Community Foundation (LACF), local nonprofit organizations are banding together for a community-wide event focused on Giving Tuesday (Dec. 3) that encourages the community to contribute to Los Alamos and Rio Arriba county nonprofit organizations through a single online giving platform – losalamosgives.org.
Los Alamos Gives is a powerful “one-stop giving” site where donors can search for their favorite nonprofit organizations, or find new ones, and make donations on a secure platform. Though focused on Giving Tuesday, the site is open throughout the year. As part of this campaign, LACF and local nonprofit organizations will be driving donors in town to the site through banners, articles and table tents at local restaurants.
“Giving Tuesday is about supporting our local nonprofit organizations,” LACF Executive Director Liz Martineau said. “The site is a great place to learn about many of our local nonprofit organizations and the services they provide. Please consider giving to the organizations that you value in our community, even small gifts can make a difference.”
Ultimately, the Los Alamos Gives campaign has several goals:
- To grow and diversify funding for nonprofits;
- To foster a greater sense of philanthropy in the community; and
- To inform the public about the positive impact local nonprofits have on our lives.
Anyone can donate. Simply click “donate” at the main page and search for the organization(s) to support, then click “donate” to give to that organization. Donations can be made via credit card and several online payment platforms.
The Community Foundation thanks Enterprise Bank & Trust for being the anchor sponsor of the Los Alamos Gives website, making it free for local nonprofit organizations to participate.
