Fall Fiesta Returns To Bandelier Weekend Of Oct. 12-13

BANDELIER NEWS RELEASE

The community is invited to attend Bandelier National Monument’s popular Fall Fiesta. This year, Fall Fiesta is the weekend of Oct. 12-13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday at the visitor center in Frijoles Canyon.

“This is by far the largest Fall Fiesta event ever at Bandelier,” Superintendent Patrick Suddath said. “We are excited to host so many artisans and demonstrators this year. The experiences, history and artistry of these craftsmen really help to make connections to the people that have ancestral and traditional connections to this place. This is not something to be missed.”

The event is being sponsored by the Friends of Bandelier National Monument and Western National Parks Association.

More than 40 vendors have signed up to participate in the event. Handmade items such as pottery, jewelry, drums, carvings, and more will be for sale. Dance groups will also perform throughout the weekend. There will be special ranger-led programs and guest speakers.

Please note that parking in Frijoles Canyon is limited. It is common for parking lots to reach full capacity. When this happens, visitors are not permitted to enter, and are asked to return later in the day. It is recommended to arrive before 9 a.m. or after 3 p.m. to avoid parking lot congestion.
