Officials with the Betty Ehart Senior Center announced an unexpected closure for today, March 27, due to unforeseen plumbing issues. The decision to close the facility temporarily is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of community members and staff.

Senior center staff will deliver meals as scheduled to those who are already registered for home deliveries.  

Efforts are underway to repair the plumbing issues so that the facility can reopen as soon as possible once it is safe and practical.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our members and the community,” said Los Alamos County Social Services Manager Jessica Strong. Updates regarding the reopening of the Senior Center will be communicated through the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization Facebook page and local media. Members and the community are encouraged to stay tuned for further announcements.
