County: Safety Message From Los Alamos County Snow Response Team

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

Los Alamos County reminds the community to give plow trucks and snow response crews plenty of space to operate if you see them out and about in town. Plow trucks, in particular, cannot stop very quickly, so it is important for your safety and theirs to allow for extra distance when around them. This includes when passing, turning in front of one, or following behind one.

In addition, snow and ice crews work around the clock, so members of the community that take walks or go running after dark are advised to wear clothing with reflective patches on them, carry a flashlight or headlamp, and wear colors other than black. This is to ensure crews can see you as they work.

Snow response crews are working hard to ensure roads and sidewalks are as safe as possible; however, icy conditions and low visibility are possible. Please use extra caution when traveling!
