Los Alamos Young Guns
Nine Los Alamos Young Guns athletes competed in the Scholastic Clay Target Program Zone 1A November 11-12 in Albuquerque. Balanced performances by Matthew Nowell and Ana Schmitz earned them High Overall Varsity Male and High Overall Varsity Female respectively. and Each received a silver dollar. Sam Nowell was just one target behind his brother Matthew for High Overall Varsity Male.
Newcomers Isabelle Berg, Alicia Rodriguez and Garrison Sison established a baseline during their first Intermediate competition.
Matthew Nowell – 1st in Handicap and second place in Doubles.
Sam Nowell – 1st in Doubles and 2nd in Singles.
Ana Schmitz – 1st place in Singles after a shoot off and 1st place in Handicap and Doubles.
Isabelle Berg – 3rd place in singles and handicap intermediate female.
Kadin Hansel – 1st place in Handicap and 3rd place in singles and doubles.
Ana Schmitz took first in Senior Ladies Skeet.
Matthew Nowell took Second in Senior Male Skeet and Sam Nowell took third.
Alyssa Vigil, a former Young Guns athlete, took the Coaches Shoot with a straight 25.
