Los Alamos Heart Council, in partnership with The Family YMCA sponsored a “Heart Smart Poster Contest” during February, which is American Heart Month. The Council and the Y encourage everyone to get their blood pressure checked as a first step in heart care.

The following youth won a top prize of $50 each with their creative posters.  Second grader Corbin Wakeford’s poster encourages good nutrition, exercise and happiness. Brandon Keller, 4th grader, used a “Mine Craft” theme directing people to be Heart Smart, and Grace Norman illustrated the size of the heart and the amount of blood the heart pumps daily.

CEO Chris Daniels said the Y is grateful for Los Alamos Heart Council’s leadership in encouraging heart health.
