County: Community Services Seeks Input From Teens On Potential Skills Park

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

The Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) will be visiting the Los Alamos Teen Center at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 23 to provide an opportunity for teens to voice their opinions and thoughts about a potential skills park.

CSD has been working with Design Office, a professional consulting service to provide a conceptual design and layout for new and renovated trails in Pueblo Canyon. As part of this process, CSD previously release a survey about the potential of skills bike park in Pueblo Canyon. The purpose of the survey was to gather input on the potential of a Bike Skills Park from current/future users of these types of parks. It is not intended for any other components like a bike trail, equestrian trail, environmental protection area, etc.

Skills Bike Parks are environments for children, teens or adults who want to learn essential bicycle riding skills in safe and fun conditions. They are purposely designed areas with a gravel/dirt surface and various technical and challenging elements. This can provide a great opportunity to create unique ways to inspire people to ride their bikes.

The Community Services Department encourages any teen interested in the topic to stop by the Teen Center and join in on the conversation.
