Elks Lodge Holds ‘Cookies For Kids’ Bake Sale Friday To Raise Funds For Christmas Kids Giving Tree 2021

ELKS LODGE NEWS RELEASE

The Elks Lodge is holding a Cookies for Kids bake sale from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10 to raise funds for its 2021 Christmas Kids Giving Tree. Homemade baked goods may be donated for the event and should be dropped off at the Lodge by 3 p.m..

Stop by the Lodge and see the awesome display the elves have created and enjoy some cookies.

For more than 12 years now the Elks Lodge has “adopted” disadvantaged children and given them gifts to ensure they have a bright light for their Christmas. We partner with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Catholic Daughters Society and local schools, as well as directly with families.

This year, with the pandemic and economic worries, the need is greater than ever and we have approximately 135 children on our list. This is more than twice as many kids as we have adopted in the past! The Elks have raised about 40 percent of their $3,300 goal.

To ensure that all kids get something this year, we are asking for donations only. We will be giving each child a gift card, which they can use to choose their own gift. With so many kids, we are targeting $20 gift card for each child, but of course the more donations we receive the more the children will receive!

We can accept checks – made out to BPOE 2083, (with check noted that it’s for the Kids giving Tree) or cash (please place in envelope noted Christmas Kids Giving Tree). You can give to any officer or drop them in the Lodge, or mail to the Lodge at: BPOE 2083, 1601 Trinity Drive, Los Alamos, NM 87544

Hopefully next year we can go back to our normal shopping and wrapping gifts for the kids. Thanks you in advance for your generous donations.
