Los Alamos Police Department has advised that State Road 4 at Mile Marker 57 south of White Rock is closed indefinitely due to a large rock slide.

Department of Transportation workers are at the scene of the slide which covered both sides of the road near Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Technical Area 39, according to LAPD Cmdr. Preston Ballew.

There are no estimates of when the road will reopen and LAPD will issue an update when it is.
