RMCI, under contract with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU), will close the right turn lane for southbound traffic on NM State Road 4 at the East Jemez Rd. intersection.  The lane closure will start on Wednesday, Nov. 3 and continue for one to two weeks in support of a 16-inch water line replacement project. Motorists will still be able to turn right onto East Jemez from the center lane.  Traffic delays should be anticipated.

RMCI crews will establish a bore pit in the southbound shoulder which will be protected by a barrier wall that encroaches into the right turn lane. Crews will then bore from west to east under NM State Rd. 4 just north of the E. Jemez intersection. The project replaces a water transmission line to connect the new Otowi 2 drinking water well and treatment building ahead of the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s road rehabilitation project.
