Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos (N3B) staff presented a check last week to LA Cares, a local nonprofit organization that provides assistance to Los Alamos County residents in need of food and financial aid related to utilities and housing.

Using volunteer hours, N3B employees raised $10,000 through an N3B-sponsored golf tournament, which is held annually as a fundraiser for LA Cares. This year’s donation exceeds the amount given in 2019.

N3B employees started their fundraising with the Danny Nichols Memorial Golf Tournament in late June 2021, and continued donation efforts up until early August.

“We are thrilled to be a partner with LA Cares. It is important for N3B to give back to the local community. These funds will be put to great use to help the most people possible”, said N3B President Kim Lebak.
