It has been over 2 years since I have been to Haiti with Friends of the Children of Haiti and almost 2 years since any Americans have held a clinic, fortunately the Haitians we work with have continued to serve their fellow countrymen in our absence.  The Vital Health Clinics are taking place quarterly, weekly Saturday Urgent Care Clinics  are taking place to tend to urgent needs, a Haitian dentist and surgeon have been hired to provide these much needed services.  The FOTCOH WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Program is providing water filters to many families along with hygiene education.  The new Women’s Health Initiative is working to help educate women on women and children issues and providing life saving food to the malnourished under 5 population.

The FOTCOH clinic was spared damage in the recent earthquake and will be providing water filters and hygiene kits to some of those affected.

While we Americans are missing life in Haiti the Haitians we work with are continuing the work without us.

This week I am hosting a fundraising Pampered Chef party, here is the link www.pamperedchef.com/party/haitichildren if you would like to participate or if you would just like to make a donation it maybe mailed to FOTCOH, P.O. Box 789, Peoria, IL 61652, or made on line https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E201032&id=6  or left at either Smith’s Pharmacy for me.
